Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the comfort of the Mainpack especially with the Daypack attached (after all, it makes an already large bag gigantic). However, I’m happy to report that the design of the shoulder straps (which also feature load lifters), coupled with an excellent back panel, sternum strap, and a beefy waist belt make for a surprisingly comfortable carry, even over an extended period of time.

The bottom compression straps might be useful if you’re loading the pack up with a laptop and heavy books.

I don't think it will be full, so maybe it could squish down into an overhead bin or under the seat? I definitely would like to have a carry on because unfortunately, I will have several connections and don't want to risk losing it. My only other backpack is a North Face Jester which I use for every day commuting to work. I think I would be able to fit everything if I packed wisely.

Hard ring around the bottom, pack does not open enough to get in, pockets intrude on interior, and the top of the pack area is wasted. The designers could do much better.

The bag has a stiff backing and angle so that the bag must fall forward and not backwards to protect a laptop however this feature is also a negative for me since the bag is constantly face done picking up surface dirt and grime. The stiff backing and high quality construction are a pro and con as well considering it became heavy to carry causing back discomfort. The shoulder straps were comfortable and made with women in mind. Love the bag but not my go to bag to carry due to these reasons

Decent price too. However, the seam is fraying and there is already a hole on the seam near the zipper. This is after a three day trip on a flight and to/from a hotel with light fill. Disappointing with the quality to have a frayed seam and a hole in 72 hours of light use

As some of the other reviews mention, the backpack will not sit up because the stiff back is so tall. It leans forward and then falls over. There is only one "big" compartment and one very small half-compartment on the front, so it's not possible to stay organized with all of the little things that kids need to carry to school these days. Nice looking backpack just not practical for a college student. It's not big enough to pack books in addition to laptop & any other items you may need for the day. The biggest issue was this is not in any way water resistant. College students are walking on campus rain or shine didn't realize there would be no protection at all & arrive to class with paper homework wet & an English book's pages all damp too

I will return this pack. I intended to use it for running between uni classes and my full time job but I feel the available space was utilized with awkward, insufficient pockets and compartments. The front organizer pocket is shallow and I feel not very useful for my purposes. This shallow pocket leaves a bubble of useless space in the main compartment
