Commute

Timbuk2 The Division Pack

(1/6)

A little stiff, other than that, a solid commuter choice for school/work/travel. The Moss color is better in person than in the photos! It’s comfortable and my laptop feels safe and secure in it.

Over there, it's seven kilometers to the campground 700 meters of elevation gain. So i think snow shoes are gon na, be a really good option for this trip. I'M starting this trip a little bit earlier because it gets dark so early in the winter time. I want to get to camp and be able to share my camp routine with you guys what i do to pick my campsite set up, my tent as well as go through my cook system gather water and all those things

Strap

Timbuk2 The Division Pack

(1/10)

TImbuk2 bags are great looking bags and some of them are decent quality. However the one I got is "Storm" and fabric feels too harsh, the straps are not comfortable whatsoever.

Compression straps serve two purposes: to help compress a puffy load and bring the weight closer to your core muscles where it can be carried more easily; and to attach sleeping pads, snowshoes, avalanche shovels, or skis to the sides of your pack instead of the front, so that the load doesn't pull you backward and off-balance.

Size

Timbuk2 The Division Pack

The bag seems too tall, and not deep enough (from front to back). I don't carry that much stuff, and I struggle to get it all to fit. The annoying part, is there's plenty of room on top of my stuff. It seems this space should be allocated to make the bag half an inch deeper

Try to get a pack that has adequate compression so you can shrink its volume if not needed while keeping the weight of an empty pack under 5 pounds. Pack and gear weight is even more important in winter than the rest of the year because you'll be wearing and carrying a lot more of it.

Compartment

Timbuk2 The Division Pack

(1/7)

Look at all I could fit inside --Simple. No endless selection of pockets and pouches that break up the volume so much that you can't fit big things in it --Separate padded laptop compartment --Soft-lined tablet sleeve --Attached key ring --Simple selection of pockets on the interior. Just enough for a couple of pens, a charger, etc. --One large exterior compartment --Nicely ventilated in the back --Strong top handle CONS: --I could do without the compression buckles on the sides

In addition to the main compartment, an expedition backpack with a capacity of more than 70 liters should also have well-placed and easily accessible pockets/compartments. Pockets and compartments allow you to organize your gear so that you can easily and quickly find important items. All backpacks in this review are also equipped with attachment points (for hiking poles, ice axes, helmet etc.)

Comfort

Timbuk2 The Division Pack

Was able to get this on sale after eyeing it up for a couple weeks and diligent research. This backpack is incredibly comfortable and well built! I’ve taken it to the Caribbean, including beaches, all day treks and the padding on the straps kept it comfortable all day! Will easily fit a 15” laptop in the pocket, and the main pocket has plenty of room for other things such as books or equipment. Is on the smaller size as backpacks go, but that’s what I was looking for.

Both materials are coated with polyurethane for better water resistance. The backpack features the AirContact Pro back system which has two aluminum stays for good stability when you are carrying heavy loads. The shoulder straps and hip belt are anatomically shaped and well-padded to provide good comfort. Like the Gregory Baltoro 75, the Deuter AirContact Pro 60+15 features a rotating hip belt for good fit
