Comfort

(1/12)

"So if you want to say goodbye to sweaty backs and painful shoulders, get yourself a North Face backpack. The shoulder straps are also padded, and they are custom-molded. Obviously, they are also adjustable, which means that anyone can make them fit their own body perfectly. And the back panel also features a spine channel, which is just one of the reasons why all of these backpacks are endorsed by the American Chiropractic Organization"

Carry-on

(1/11)

"Arguably that is because it has the most features out of all the backpacks, so let’s dive straight into those details. Just like in part 1 of this humongous review, we will first check out the common features that these two backpacks share. After that, we will examine their differences, or rather the advantages one of them has over the other. In the first part that was the Borealis and here it is the Surge"

Size

(1/9)

"The NF Recon backpack has great outside storage and I like the extra zipper pocket out front. The materials are good quality. However why I wouldn’t keep this bag is because the main storage is more narrow and vertical than Id like and I want a wider bottom and storage in general. I’m comparing the NF Recon 30L backpack to the NF Borealis 28L and while the Recon is lighter in weight (a plus) and supposedly able to hold 2L more, because the main storage is more narrow, it doesn’t allow me to enjoy the full extent of more storage so I prefer the Borealis instead"

Strap

(1/6)

"A sternum strap is a little buckle that goes over your chest and allows you to secure both shoulder straps together. This helps distribute the load of the backpack more evenly, and also ensures that the straps won’t slip off your shoulders. Additionally, the buckle of the sternum strap here is also an emergency whistle, which you can see if you look really closely at the picture. So if you find yourself in an emergency either backpack will help you get out of it"

Zipper

(1/2)

"Switched to the North Face Recon. It's perfect. Fits close to the body on crowded trains/planes, but plenty of room if you need to stuff it. Sturdy easy pull zippers"

Compartment

(1/1)

"This pack features a lot of compartments and easy access storage, which I like a lot. The ability to stow items away knowing they are protected is great. But, then having pockets/pouches that are easy to get to are great for when I need my keys quickly, or sunglasses, or a hat. Super comfortable, and durable"
